After the era of Amitabh Bachchan & Anil Kapoor the trio ‘Khans’ ruled the Bollywood industry. It was Amir Khan, Sharukh Khan and Salman Khan. Salman Khan started his career with the film “Biwi Ho To Aisi” which was not a commercial success. But the next film of his “Maine Pyar Kiya”was a very huge hit, which created a trend of romantic movies following it.
Born in Madhya Pradesh to a film script writer, Salim, the actor was able to make a name in the Bollywood industry. Still unmarried Salman Khan is a heart throb of girls all around the world. He got 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He is the eldest son of his parents. In the years 1990-1992 his three films were super hits,”Baaghi”,”Sanam Bewafa”,”Saajan” were the films. In 1993 his films which were released were flop. In 1994 his biggest blockbuster was released “Hum Apke Hain Kaun” with Madhuri Dixit. It breaks all the collection records of the past time and his performance was good in that film. It is still considered to be the best performance done by Salman Khan. It gave him Fimfare Award for the best Actor.
In 1995 another block buster of him was released “Karan Arjun”, co-starring with Shah Rukh Khan. In 1996 “Khamoshi” and “Jeet” were released which were declared hit. His performance in Sajay Leela Bansali’s “Khamoshi” was appreciated widely.After these he acted in many films and guest appearances with different directors. The actor won Film fare award for best supporting actor for “Kuch Kuch Hota Hai” for his guest appearance. In 2002 he was arrested for killing one man and injuring 2 others, when Salman Khan ran his car on to them driving under the influence of alcohol. actress
But the actor was later sentenced free from that case. Legal actions continued in Salman Khan’s life when the actor was allegedly hunted down “Chinkara” deer, which is a protected endangered species. He was sentenced for one year prison but was later freed on a stay from the High Court. Again the actor was sentenced for a 5 year jail for the same case and he was in prison for 6 days, before he got bail.
His relationship with actress Aiswarya Rai was a hot topic for the media. Later he broke up with Aishwarya.Throught his career Salman Khan has been a friend of controversies. Even so with his performances in “Khamoshi” , “Tere Nam” ,”Hum Apke Hain Kaun”,”Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam” the actor has proven that Salman Khan is one the best in the Bollywood Industry.
